Fish in the Dark

Larry David, the creator and star of HBO’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” will make his Broadway debut as an actor and playwright with Fish in the Dark, which will open at a Cort theatre to be announced March 5, 2015, according to the New York Times. The play tells the story of a death in the family and the characters who all come together in the aftermath.
Lawrence Gene “Larry” David born July 2, 1947 is an American comedian, writer, actor, and television producer. He was the co-creator, with Jerry Seinfeld, of the television series Seinfeld, and was its head writer and executive producer from 1989 to 1996. David has subsequently gained further recognition for the HBO series Curb Your Enthusiasm, also created by David, in which he stars as a semi-fictionalized version of himself. David’s work won him a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series in 1993. Formerly a standup comedian, David went into television comedy, writing and starring in ABC’s Fridays, as well as writing briefly for Saturday Night Live. He has won two Primetime Emmy Awards as well as being voted by fellow comedians and comedy insiders as number 23 of the greatest comedy stars ever in a British poll to select The Comedian’s Comedian.

Larry David has also been involved in other films and television series. David wrote and directed the 1998 film Sour Grapes, about two cousins who feud over a casino jackpot. It was neither a commercial nor a critical success. He has appeared in minor parts in two Woody Allen films – Radio Days and New York Stories – more recently taking the leading role in Allen’s New York-based comedy film Whatever Works

Jonny Orsini made his Broadway debut in Douglas Carter Beane’s burlesque dramedy The Nance, opposite Nathan Lane. He previously appeared off-Broadway in David Rabe’s An Early History of Fire. His screen credits include Girl Most Likley, Eddie and Paul, Beneath, Generation Um… and Cigarette Candy.
Rosie Perez is a Puerto Rican-American actress, community activist, talk show host, author, dancer, and choreographer. She made her Broadway debut in Terrence McNally‘s Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune. Perez had her third major role in the hit comedy White Men Can’t Jump co-starring Wesley Snipes and Woody Harrelson.
